両足院方丈襖絵事業が、NHKWORLDの『Core Kyoto』と言う番組の一部で紹介されました。

 

建仁寺本坊、青蓮院様、大徳寺聚光院様や当院などで現代に完成した襖絵を中心に、そもそも襖絵とは何か、襖の要素にはどのようなものがあるか詳しく紹介されています。

当院のプロジェクトは、既に完成した部分と現在制作中の部分がありますので、番組内でも興味を持って見てもらいやすいと思います。

インタビュー部分や作家の運筆を見れるシーンもあります。

 

絵画、芸術の力を一つの柱として、言葉の壁を越えて広く教えを広めていく気持ちが強まりました。

Fusuma Paintings: Artful Partitions Transform Space

Fusuma are uniquely Japanese fittings, dating back a millennium, that act as partitions, sliding doors and walls. Painting them can transform a room’s ambience.
